Keep a theme and delete text posts quick! The best blogs are the ones that have cohesive posts (posts that go together). Also, delete all text post as soon as promos reach so your blog looks cleaner.

URL, theme, and banner. You want your URL to be intriguing enough to make people want to open it. Make it short and in the style of your blog. Have a theme that displays a lot of posts at once, and doesn’t show captions, which clutter your page. A pretty but not too flashy banner can make your blog look professional. Try drawing one yourself!

Ask people to check out your blog! Who knows, they might end up following you, it can’t hurt!

Be nice! ALWAYS read faqs. NEVER say “love your blog, promo me?" INCREDIBLY rude. Enough said. Faqs are there for a reason.

Reblog promos! Make sure to obey all rules (don’t like, do follow everyone listed).

Once you have 1-2k, make your own first 5 or 10 promos. Make them small so they reach, and always post the winners.

Reblog what you love and love your blog! Tumblr really shouldn’t be about followers, so If you don’t have a ton, don’t worry! If you love your blog, that’s all that matters!
